Anchovies approach the caostlines every year near April, where they finish their reproduction cycles. This is, not coincidentally, when anchovy season kicks off, which then goes on until spring.
Anchovies are caught with purse seines, which round up the fish near the surface. The net closes, which prevents the anchovies from escaping. This fishing method affects neither the sea environment nor any other types of fish at all.
